The San Fernando Valley has a long and rich agricultural heritage going all the way back to the days of the missions and Spanish rule. Up until the 1950′s Los Angeles was the leading agricultural county in the U.S. There is still a surprisingly vibrant agricultural and home growing community literally right in our backyard.
We’ve successfully cultivated fruit trees in Granada Hills for decades. We know what works from personal experience, and we love to share this knowledge so everyone can enjoy more success growing. A wide range of tropical fruit bearing trees will thrive and produce in San Fernando Valley, when given a good start and proper care. The keys are generous watering, careful nutrition, and appropriate sun exposure.
Some of our favorites include: babacos, cherimoyas, mangos, mulberries, bananas, and guava. We’ve also have specially selected varieties litchees, longans, star fruit, dragon fruit, and allspice.
